FOOD PANTRY

Providing Hunger Relief

The WACS Food Pantry’s mission is to provide nutritious food and household items to meet the short-term needs of clients living in Dallas County, the Waukee School District or with approval from any of our partner churches.

All of our pantry items (perishable and non-perishable food, plus household items) are graciously donated through local churches, organizations, local businesses and members of our community. The items are distributed based on availability and family size.

Registered clients can visit once a month to receive a week’s supply of groceries and other household essentials. Typical items include meat, milk, eggs and other pantry staples as well as personal hygine products (based upon availability)

Current Food Pantry Services

Our food pantry is, once again, open for client shopping inside during regular hours. To address safety concerns and encourage social distancing, we have expanded our hours. If you prefer to stay in your vehicle, call us at (515) 987-5523 and a volunteer will prepare a pre-packaged supply of food based on family size and deliver it to your vehicle.

First-Time Visitors

First-time visitors to our Food Pantry will go through a brief check-in process. After approval, clients receive about a week’s worth of groceries and are allowed to use the Food Pantry once per calendar month. All conversations and services provided at WACS are confidential and private.

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure we can meet your needs:

  • Clients must live in Dallas County or Waukee School district
  • Bring identification for each member of the household
  • Bring proof of residency (utility bill or rental lease agreement)
