FOOD DRIVES

Together, We Are Strong

Donations to Waukee Area Christian Services advance our mission of ending hunger in Dallas County. We’re grateful for the support of businesses, schools, congregations, organizations and individuals that hold food and fund drives throughout the year. Thank you for joining our efforts to combat hunger in our community!

We love seeing pictures of food drives taking place in our community. Consider sharing them with us so that we can showcase the impact you’re making via social media.

Host a Food Drive

Tackling hunger takes a team. When you host a food drive with your friends, family, or coworkers, you provide much-needed food and household items that our clients need most. Consider hosting your food drive during the spring or summer months when we see the biggest decline in donations to the food pantry.

To help you with your food drive, we’ve added a printable document for our most-needed items thoughout the year.

During your Food Drive you can also direct participants to our Amazon Grocery list for them to make their food donations. All participants need to do is add items of their choosing to their cart and then check out. Food items are then shipped directly to Waukee Area Christian Services.

What is Food Insecurity

Food insecurity is defined as not always having enough food or access to healthy food options, which can lead to hunger. Families may become insecure at any time, and it is often not permanent, but can have lasting effects.

Who Does it Affect in Dallas County?

“None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”

— Mother Teresa
