Programs with a Purpose

Throughout the year, clients are invited to participate in a series of seasonal programs. These include: Easter Baskets of Love, School Supplies, Share Your Feast Thanksgiving, and December Blessings Program.  Please see below for details.   Online pre-registration is required for the Christmas Food Box, Christmas Gifts for Kids and School Supplies.

NOVEMBER

Share Your Feast Thanksgiving

During the month of November,  clients will have the option to select bonus Thanksgiving meal ingredients during monthly food pantry visits.  These bonus items will vary based on availability but will include such items as meat/poultry, cranberry sauce, green beans, stuffing, and more.

Part of Food Pantry shopping during the Thanksgiving season.

OCTOBER – DECEMBER

December Blessings Program

Our December Blessings Program offers registered clients an opportunity to receive both a Christmas Food Box and Christmas Gifts For Kids.

Our pre-assembled Christmas Food Box includes a variety of nourishing food essentials to enjoy a traditional holiday meal.  Children, from infancy through high school, are eligible to be registered for one or two wish list gifts from a generous donor.

Online pre-registration is required for the Christmas Food Box and Christmas Gifts for Kids by Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 3:00PM.

Will begin Tuesday, October 1, 2024

DEADLINE:  3:00PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024

Client Pick-Up Date:  Friday, December 13, 2024

MARCH – APRIL

Easter Baskets of Love

The Easter Baskets of Love program is an opportunity for your children to celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each basket is filled with traditional Easter goodies and small toys.

Children ages 212 will be eligible for Easter baskets. 

NOTE: Basket items are available in the Food Pantry and are based on availability.

Part of Food Pantry shopping during the Easter season.

JUNE – AUGUST

School Supplies

School supplies are available for children in grades kindergarten through high school in the Waukee Community School District.  If you would like to participate in our 2024 School Supplies program you must complete the above online application AND provide identification for ALL household members, proof of income and address by 3:00pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Online pre-registration is required.
