“Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you and your staff for your help and understanding! We certainly appreciate that the church community has opened the food pantry in our area!
…I know several single parents like myself who have found themselves in need-struggling to be self sufficient! This may just be the helping hand that will show those who need the nudge to keep on going in the right direction – not to give up hope and return to the welfare line. Thank you again!”
“I would like to comment on the school supplies I received for my students. first let me tell you about myself. I am a single working mother raising children in the Waukee public school system. I lost my mother to cancer almost three years ago, not only was she my mother but also my best friend. My mother would assist me with finacial needs when I needed it, and I would always try to pay her back, she was also my support system when I needed advise, or just to talk. When she passed and my finacials begin to strain, I didnt know where to turn to, I didnt know how to apply for assistance, I meet this lady named Pat at the Department of Human Resources, which she provided me with a guide of who I could contact for assistance. I found myself running out a money and food so I looked through the guide to find a food pantry close to my home, and that is when I discovered the Waukee Chrisitan Services. I feel that I am blessed to have this food pantry so close to my home. Not only has this food pantry provided with me with food, clothing, holiday baskets, and school supplies, this pantry has provided me a secure place, to go if I need help. I was so embarressed to go in there and ask for help, I cried going down the stairs, and that is when I was greeted by this wonderful staff, not a single time have I ever felt unwelcomed or judged, for my circumstances. My family and I would like to thank the Waukee Food Pantry for everything that you have provided for us. We beleive the Food Pantry is an angel in disguise. Thank you all so much for your hardwork, time, donations, and caring staff.”
